The Zoe Loren Foundation Announces this Year's Grant Recipients

The Zoe Loren Foundation is excited to announce this year’s grant recipients! These recipients are organizations that provide children with educational experiences that advance literacy, STEM (science, technology, education, and math) and foster artistic development.

Faith's Place in West Palm Beach, FL, is an organization that provides educational services to the community. They offer pre-school (VPK), homework assistance, FCAT tutorials and after-school art enrichment programs. Their All Star Summer Camp was awarded $5,000 for the purchase of hands-on pre-engineering kits that encompassed science, math, writing, reading and social studies. The grant funded materials for 200 under-privileged students from Pre-K through 10th grade to experience activities that sparked their curiosity and empowered them to explore, learn and create! Noble Lockhart-Mays, Director Faith's Place Centers wrote, “We are thoroughly enjoying this series and we are grateful!” To see their great work in action, visit https://www.faithsplacecenter.org/, and be sure to check out their videos!

The Achievement Centers for Children & Families was once again awarded $5,500.00 for funding of a summer art program. They are a community based, family focused organization dedicated to providing opportunities where under-resourced children may thrive in a positive environment.

The grant to the Achievement Centers covered the instructor’s salary, as well as the materials for approximately 600 campers! The art instructor traveled to all three of their Palm Beach County camp locations to implement the art program. The children had an opportunity to work with oil pastels, charcoal, watercolor, printmaking, sculpture and acrylic painting.

Stephanie Seibel, Chief Executive Officer, and Michael Gulley, Jr., Chief Operating Officer wrote, “We have finished up our summer camp program for 2019, and the summer art program was once again a huge success! I wanted to thank you for providing the funding to allow our campers an awesome fine arts experience. Once again we will have wonderful projects to display in our building. We wouldn’t be able to have this program without you.” To learn more about this wonderful organization, visit https://achievementcentersfl.org/.

The Zoe Loren Foundation is proud to narrow the opportunity gap in arts and science education and to help children discover their full potential. Thank you to all of our generous supporters who are helping us to make a difference in Zoe’s memory.
