Bonnie Buchanan, proud recipient of the Zoe Loren Make a Difference Foundation Scholarship.

Bonnie Buchanan

2013

Is a 2013 graduate of Lake Worth Community High School and is the recipient of the Zoe Loren Photography Internship Scholarship. This scholarship is completely funded by Discovery Internships in memory of Zoe. Zoe was a participant in a Discovery Internship photography program in New York City in the summer of 2010.

In addition to excellent grades, Bonnie has volunteered her time with the Street Painting Festival, the Lake Worth High School Mural, and The Memory Project. The Memory Project is a program in which art students create portraits for children and teens around the world who have been neglected, orphaned, or disadvantaged. To do this, art students receive photos of kids on a waiting list and then work in any medium to create the portraits (drawing, painting, digital art, collage, etc). The portraits are then delivered to the kids as gifts. Bonnie has also exhibited her photography

at the Norton Museum of Art Student Invitational, has received a Silver Key at the Scholastic Arts Regional Art Show, a blue ribbon at the South Florida Fair Juried Art competition, and was a scholarship winner at the Women in Visual Arts juried art exhibition.

We look forward to hearing from Bonnie as she gains valuable experience working alongside professional photographers in New York City this summer.
