Maia Schulte is a Junior at Atlantic High School and is the recipient of the Zoe Loren Photography Internship Scholarship. Maia spent four weeks in New York City working alongside professional photographers. This scholarship is completely funded by the Musiker family, Owners of Discovery Internships, in memory of Zoe. Zoe was a participant in a Discovery Internship photography program in New York City in the summer of 2010. In addition to excellent grades, Maia has volunteered her time with Ronald McDonald House and the student chapter of People to People in Delray Beach, FL. While at People to People, Maia has participated in beach cleanups, food drives, and has volunteered at local soup kitchens. Maia, a talented photographer, has had her photos shown at the Norton Museum of Art, Pine Jog Education Center, and is a 2015 recipient of the National Medal for Photography from the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. Maia received this award at Carnegie Hall this summer. Below is her award winning photo, titled This is Happiness.
